House of Hearing Team sharing their insights on a local business, Leatherby's Family Creamery in Draper, UT

Local Love: Leatherby’s Family Creamery

Our House of Hearing team feel that when it comes to most local businesses, we get better service, and we find it’s easier to build relationships with those who work there and run the business. We think that this is because they often care more about their reputation and are family owned.

Building up a local business and being able to help it grow is very important to these smaller businesses, so we like to be able to support that. This month’s shoutout is for Leatherby’s Family Creamery.

The Wonderful Things about Leatherby’s

We’ve been customers of Leatherby’s for an average of ten years, for good reason! On top of great ice cream, they have amazing service and train their employees well.

We all agree that we haven’t been able to find ice cream that is anything like theirs anywhere else, so it goes to show that they have their own recipes and don’t just purchase their food and ice cream from large distributors.

Our favorite thing about Leatherby’s is that they have an old-fashioned theme inside! They look like an old ice cream parlor inside and even have a jukebox.

They don’t just serve ice cream; they also bake their own bread, cookies, and brownies. For your ice cream, choose from shakes, sundaes, and bowls. Have a look at their ice cream menu.

They don’t just sell ice cream. The deli menu has a large selection of paninis, burgers, soup, salads, and finger food, and you can order the great Soup and Scoop or Sandwich and Scoop combo at lunchtime for a very reasonable price.

You Must Try This

Everything on the menu is good, and they make their own ice cream sauces.

Definitely try their mac and cheese bites – on the kids’ menu (even if you just get them as a snack). The toasted almond ice cream with marshmallow topping is also one of our favorites.

Takeout, Delivery, and Catering

They offer takeout, but you should definitely dine in and see how cool the inside of the restaurant is.

They offer catering for events and can even bring an ice cream cart to your event. They do an awesome job with catering and don’t require much work from those holding the event.

Where Is Leatherby’s?

While Leatherby’s opened their first location in California, the only other state that they have moved to and opened new locations is Utah! We think it’s awesome that they were able to bring their small local business to Utah and build it here.

They now have three locations in Utah – Taylorsville, Orem, and Draper –and we usually go to the Draper one.

Hours: Mon – Thurs 11 a.m – 11 p.m | Fri & Sat 11 a.m – 12 a.m

Don’t miss out on the best ice cream in Utah any longer and pay them a visit!
