The last few months have been demanding for everyone. Overnight, our daily lives changed, from the way we bought food to how we met up with loved ones.
In times like these, we rely on each other more than ever. And in Utah, it’s been particularly touching to see how people across the state have risen to new challenges and overcome them collectively.
From the outset, this inspired the team at House of Hearing to find exceptional solutions for our patients. It’s been such a privilege to serve you in this way, irrespective of the situation.
This began in early April when we created a whole new hearing support service, Curbside Appointments. Instead of coming into our centers, you could gain repairs and hearing adjustments from the comfort and safety of your vehicle.
Alongside this, we expanded our mailing service. Those with hearing aids could receive fresh batteries, domes, and wax filters by post. This meant we had the opportunity to reach out to those who were sheltering in place.
But to really bring our service to every home in Utah, we needed a technological solution. That’s when we developed a ground-breaking new service for diagnosis and treatment, Tele Audiology.
With this, everyone can speak to a doctor of audiology via their phone, computer, or tablet and gain confidential guidance on their hearing concern.
The complimentary service is open to both new and existing patients. Those who’ve identified a potential hearing loss can take advantage of our free, no-obligation 15-minute consultations. Whereas, our long-term patients can use Tele Audiology as part of their ongoing plans.
At each of our centers across Utah, we’ve also installed strict CDC and US government-approved protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. This means that if you choose to visit us in-person, we have the steps in place to keep you as safe as possible.
It’s just another way we’ve adapted to the “new normal” circumstances of life in this beautiful state. We’re doing everything we can to develop different services that are worthy of our amazing patients.
These are just some of the stats we’ve clocked up since the start of the outbreak:
- 943 Curbside Appointments
- 100+ Tele Audiology appointments
- 2782 patients contacted
- 116 batteries delivered
- 14 Kids home-schooled
- 11 locations (all) open
- 50+ masks made and donated by staff
- 163 Swig runs
