Smart Hearing Technology has improved massively over the last few years and feedback from our patients is always really positive.

This technology has enabled Apple users to connect their devices to their ReSound hearing aids since 2013, allowing them to stream music, audio, and phone calls directly from their device to their hearing aid.

Our patients have told us just what a difference this has made to their lives but unfortunately, this feature has not been available to android users, until now.

For Android devices using the Android 10 operating system, an upgrade to the ReSound Smart 3D app means Linx Quattro wearers can enjoy the above-mentioned features.

Furthermore, the new Bluetooth connectivity technology called “Low Energy Bluetooth” means your battery won’t be drained in the process as it uses low power consumption designed especially for audio transmission.

It really is quite a step forward on every level.

There are a number of compatible phones with Android 10, including:

Samsung Galaxy Note 10
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus/5g
Samsung Galaxy S10/e
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
Google Pixel 3/XL
Google Pixel 3a/XL
Google Pixel 2/XL
Google Pixel/XL

Here is a full list of compatible cell phones

If you do not currently own one of these devices, now may be a perfect time to contact your provider for an upgrade.

If you have Android 10 functionality then the next step is to check the connection between your device and your hearing aid.

How To Connect

The first thing to do is to head to the Google Play Store and download the ReSound 3D app

Install the app and click the ‘Get Started’ tab and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect your hearing aid to your device.  If you receive a message saying ‘All Connected’ it is good news!

Your device is compatible with your hearing aid and you are ready to go.

Setting Changes Required

You may see a red warning around ‘Status’, ‘My Resound’, and ‘Direct Audio’ icons.

This means your device is not paired correctly but don’t worry you can simply click on ‘Direct Audio Streaming’ and follow the instructions on your screen to connect successfully.

Not Compatible

Sadly, if you see the warning notifications around ‘My ReSound and “Direct Audio Streaming” icons your device is not currently compatible with the hearing aids.

If you click on this link, you can find a list of compatible hearing aids to avoid this error occurring.
